There are a couple of AC issues that we see most often in our work in Charlotte.
One of the most common issues we encounter is an insufficient air conditioner. This happens when the AC system is not adequately cooling the space as it should. There are a variety of reasons for this. You may need something as simple as a new air filter, but there are more serious problems that could be behind it.
One example is a faulty compressor, where the refrigerant is not able to circulate correctly throughout the system. This requires AC repair service. Your thermostat also may be the culprit. We’ll perform diagnostics and make sure your thermostat is functioning properly to keep your home at the optimal temperature. Beyond those options, you also may have the wrong size of air conditioner. An AC that’s too big or too small will not work correctly in your space. We can make this assessment and plan a course of action for replacement and installation if needed.
A complete air conditioner breakdown is another issue we run into frequently. A full failure may be caused by some of the same issues that cause inefficiency, but to a larger degree. When a problem is left without AC service for too long, it could escalate into your air conditioner shutting down, entirely. There could be additional components of your HVAC system that are broken and result in a failure, including a broken blower motor or compressor. A failure could also be due to electrical problems, and, since Dilling also works on electrical issues, we can be a one-stop solution for your AC failure if that’s the cause.
Maintenance is an AC service that will help you prevent more serious problems in the future. We recommend that you get routine AC maintenance at least once a year if your AC is generally working properly as is. This will keep it in tip-top shape. If you have an older unit, however, it’s advisable to schedule maintenance more often.
